I am visiting Pittburgh for a week and will be staying at the Westin Conventio Center n Penn St. What is the closest fine beauty salon and decent supermarket to this hotel? Thank you in advance.

The closest super market is the Giant Eagle across the 9th street bridge in North Side.

The best supermarkets are much farther away, but the one in North Side should meet your needs.

Here's a map with the location of the super market:

Here's a map with the location of your hotel:

Here's a mapquest route:

Since you're not from the area, it's wise to only walk to North Side during daylight or with another person at night.

As for the beauty salon, here's a map with ones in the immediate downtown area: http://www.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=b...local&ct=image

All of the ones downtown are only a 5 to 10 minute walk away so pick whichever one you like best.

Enjoy your visit!
