It doesn't usually rain a lot in September and October.

Mold is a problem in the fall because of the decaying plants and leaves. Even in the late summer, spring bulb plants are decaying.

You can't escape mold. It's everywhere. It's just higher some days than others.

btw, don't confuse mold and mildew when it comes to allergies. Some people are only allergic to outdoor molds. Some people are allergic to cheeses that contain mold. etc.

Rain does wonders for ragweed.

We didn't have much rain until recently. August was fairly dry. And don't count on Fall having a lot of rain. This is a fluke.

Iit's all relative to where you live now. You might think our normal fall rain is a lot.

Here's an interactive geographical map of allergy regions in the United States:

If you notice, ragweed season lasts the longest in California and southern regions. Pennsylvania falls into a region that has a relatively short ragweed season.

Hmm..that's actually a long time - well, typical season in that part of the country.

I was sorta hoping Pittsburgh might be different somehow, someway!

In some areas of the country, ragweed season is 9 months long!

Sounds a lot like MI...usually around early August...but about the third week of September, I could expect it to be gone.

That was always a very miserable 6-7 weeks though!
