We are trying to move (back) to Pittsburgh. I have a few job prospects.
I have researched elementary schools (I have kindergartener), crime rate, housing costs..etc. I know the 'Burgh' pretty well having spent my 1st 24 years in Penn Hills :-). But I have'nt lived there since 1991. I know things have changed. And when we move back I am certain we want to live in the City. So, that said...I know Sq. Hill is a great place and may be our first choice, but I want to get the lo-down on Brighton Heights. Marrow Elementary school seems to be a pretty good school and the crime rate there is realative low....

Anyone out there from Brighton Heights?

Not from Brighton but i got family over there.....

As much like the North Side in General, you cannot pain Brighton Heights with the same brush....

But generally speaking, the lower part of Brighton heights is Ghetto (Below Marshall)...The other half is solid working class of blacks and whites....Truly a racially blended nabe.

You prob will go through some rough places to get there. BH is nice though, the county executive Dan Onorato lives there.

BH is a nice neighborhood. Mostly middle class, and safe. Plus, you can get a lot of house for the money.
