Glendale (Carnegie, Hatfield, Penn: low income, houses, neighborhoods)

I've been looking at houses in Carnegie.I'm trying to stay away from Carnegie Towers but don't know much about Glendale.Is it safe and what school district is that?

I don't know the area, but I recommend you park the car and spend the afternoon walking around and hanging out in any neighborhood you want to buy property. Even in desirable neighborhoods, I think people should stake out their prospective house. You never know what the neighbors are like. I know someone who unknowingly bought a beautiful house on a street where all other houses were owned by people belonging to two feuding families (think Hatfields and McCoys, Western Pennsylvania style). The feud sometimes comes to a head with baseball bats being weilded in the streets. Funniest part is the police won't come onto the street until the battles are over. You'd never guess the problems there if you went by property appearances. It's not a low income neighborhood. It's a beautifully maintained, upper middle class street in a suburban neighborhood.
