Saw some spits of snow mixed with the drizzle this AM in West Mifflin by the county airport. My cousin lives near Warren, PA and he received several inches last night. They got hit much harder to the NE of us. I'd rather have snow than 35-40 degree rainfall any day. At least if it snows, I can be outside with the kids playing in it and building snowmen!

Global Warming huh? We've had a few minor snow falls/accumulations already however October isn't a normal month for snowfall here either. Weird strange weather patterns this (fall?) season and they are still predicting a warmer than normal winter.

In Pittsburgh it's going to mean snow turning to slush turning to ice and back to snow. Miserable. At least here it gets cold and stays cold. No messy meltdowns until spring.

You can take your -40 degree winters and call them nice all you want, but nobody here is buying it. Since winter starts a month later and spring comes at least a month earlier here, I and many others could care less about a little slushy snow... lmfao!

What a bunch of wusses! It is an urban legend, somewhat supported by fact, that there is always snow for Halloween in Denver. You either make the costume to fit over the ski jacket, or you make the ski jacket part of the costume. My kids Trick or Treated many times in the snow.

We were out there that October. As we left town, driving into Ohio, we saw a few flakes. Felt like home.

I am not from PA but I am a big time "weather goober" and when I saw the map that you all are getting snow as close to Pittsburg I was stunned! Enjoy the snow if you love it. If not I hope it melts quickly!

Amen Hempfield Mama! I was over on the New Mexico board trying to discuss whether the winters in the mts. of S. New Mexico were colder than in S. Oregon. I have walked to work for years, and cold rain in the 35 degree range is the worst. Far more uncomfortable than 25 and snowing. So even though NM is colder, it is warmer....

I love the snow and the earlier it shows up, the better. I hope this winter has knee deep snow till spring. Yeah!

And we will trick or treat in the snow too!

After spending super hot summers and warm winters growing up in the south, I'm enjoying the heck out of the cold. Fireplaces, hot tea and chocolate and snuggling up at home is a lot of fun.

I guess Ole Man Winter woke up early this year in a grumpy mood.
Not a single day since Oct 1st has the temp been at or above normal average.
No sticking snow in my area but wet flakes mixed with rain. Cold, cloudy, no sun.
We usualy have some pretty nice days in October here and there.
Not this year,
Oh well, maybe next week will be more normal.

You are getting ahead of yourself, the 5 day forecast is sunny with temps in the 60's. I think this past week was a weather abberation caused by a double nor'easter.
