There's the national guard on Crane Road, just up the hill, east from banksville. I have no clue if it has a commissary, though.

Yes in Oakdale

Does anyone know if they still issue ID cards at Oakdale, and if so what days and hours.

I don't think that they issue ID cars in Oakdale, but they do at the 911th airlift wing at Greater Pitt. I don't know what their hours are, but you can probably find that on their website. You won't need a sticker on your car to get onto Kelly, but you will need your card to shop.

The commissary at Oakdale is small, but it has all the basics and if there is a particular item you want that they don't carry, talk to the manager and they will order it for you. My husband spent 20 years in the Air Force, so we have shopped commissaries all over the world and while this one is small, the people are nice and we save a lot of money there. We love it when they have case lot sales. They also have really nice meat...not a huge meat section, but the meat they have is really nice.

As far as better prices at regular stores...not even close. The commissary sells things at cost and then adds a 5% surcharge to that to cover their costs. Some supermarkets do loss leads, but other than that you won't find things cheaper...unless all you are buying at other markets is generic and then that isn't a fair comparison.

I think that the new commissary at the airport should be done in the next year or two.
