He was in Pittsburgh filming a movie, and during his time he had a liking for the Steelers, including getting a tattoo of the team's logo (although I doubt it was genuine).

Whether or not it's artificial "fluffing up" done by the likes of Jake, and apparently Russel Crowe recently, I think we can all agree it's a good thing for the city after the Sienna Miller controversy several years ago.

For what it's worth, Russell Crowe seems to be a bit more genuine in his love for the city. Jake Gyllenhaal's tattoo was fake, by the way. Russell Crowe, on the other hand, has biked 500 miles around the city, has been a Pens fan for years, and likes the architecture.

Not fake, temporary.

Come on now. Does a temporary tattoo of the Steelers mean really mean that you genuinely don't like Pittsburgh? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Not at all, I think he's smart NOT to get a permanent tattoo. Shows he smarter than most in his age group. Of course, it could also be related to his Jewish heritage.

Who said anything about it meaning that he didn't like Pittsburgh? The newspaper article I read focused entirely on his temporary tattoo, and then went on to list all the things Russell Crowe said he really liked about Pittsburgh. Careful how you throw the D word around, pal. It can turn around on you awful fast.

Edit: OK, it didn't focus entirely on his "tattoo". It talked about how some woman gave him a Terrible Towel and he gave it to his friend to clean himself after eating at Primanti's. The whole point I was trying to make was that JG's "Pittsburgh love" seemed to be a publicity stunt, and RC genuinely likes/loves the city.

How in the world does that mean he doesn't like Pittsburgh? I said Russell Crowe seems more genuine. More. Actually, I said "a bit more". And even if whatever his name is wasn't genuine at all about totally loving Pittsburgh (implied by the local media who acted like he got a Steelers tattoo), it doesn't mean he doesn't like it. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
