Yeah, it's moreorless a straight shot, but definitely take a look at a map before heading out.

Thank you all for the insight. We will definitely walk back to the hotel. A neighbor who is originally from Pittsburgh told me it wouldn't be a good idea to walk at night, but she was also a bit confused as to where the arena is located.

Go for the Crucible Street property, its in Elliot, a somewhat safe/diverse area. The other two properties are located in rougher neighborhoods (with Chaucer St being by far the least desirable of the three) that both recorded homicides earlier this month. If I were you I'd start another thread though.

Tell her it's where Civic Arena used to be.

they really screwed the original grids up. it's enough to have two grids but when they eliminated the point they sort of irrationally forced them together...not to mention renaming the streets with numbers when there were already numbered streets!

If they are going to wAlk the ten minutes or so from Consol to the William Penn, they may as well walk the other ten to the Renaissance, as it is mostly a downward plane from there on the way back.

Just realized how old rachelslight's post is I digress...

Anyway I agree with the others- Downtown is safe enough that you can walk after dark, though just be aware/cautious of your surroundings...

Fifth and Sixth intersect up by the old jail. Has nothing to do with the Point.

If you're coming from a concert, there will be tons of people on the streets, just walk.
