Thanks, fleetiebelle! I'm so happy there's some action! I wasn't really worried about him last night, but by Noon I was losing my mind today!

I'd feel the exact same way if my wife was trapped somewhere. And I probably wouldn't relax until she was actually home, but hopefully that will not be too long now.

You know, there is a strip joint off that exit. Maybe he didn't want to leave.

Glad to hear he's no longer stuck, Hopes. That must've felt pretty scary.

Thanks, everyone! He arrived home at about 9pm, and he's sleeping now! He had lots of fascinating stories to tell at dinner tonight! I'm so glad he's back!

I just want to say that the Amish are AMAZING people!

They took care of everyone who was stranded in the area!

When the white out ended, it turned out that there were approximately 10 vehicles in the immediate area where my husband was stranded.

The white out was so bad, my husband couldn't see for more than 5 feet, but somehow the Amish found and fed every single person stranded along that road!

They continued to come back and check on everyone every few hours and even provided some people who didn't have blankets with blankets.

There is no doubt in my mind that they woud have taken anyone who ran out of gasoline for heat into their homes.

They do everything on trust too. They trusted everyone to return supplies afterwards by simply instructing them to leave them at their mailboxes.

I just find them to be incredibly wonderful people! They refused to accept money for the food! They do this simply out of the kindness of their hearts!

My husband wants to drop off a fruit basket on their porch the next time he passes through there. If anyone has a better idea, let me know!

So glad to hear that he is home safe, Hopes. And that he was well taken care of by kind strangers. I'm sure that was a very scary experience for you both, and I hope he can at least stay home for a couple of days.
