It's spring and I have to start to get rid of stuff NOW! I was hoping to find out the best places to do so for the best money (laid off for 2 years). What I have includes: current and vintage clothing, antiques (aunts wedding presents still in original boxes), books (travel, old, current and Christian interest), records, Breyer horse collection, CD's, Fisher Price toys (older). I have had great luck at Avalon Exchange in Sq. Hl. for outright sales of clothing but I need more stores/locations like that. Half Price books pays miserably but I love to buy there.

Also, are there any web sites that you know of to find fair selling prices for antiques (household 50's) and where to sell them (I don't have much luck on e-bay).

Finally, do you know of any auctioneers or estate sale people who take less than a 50% comission?

Thanks and have a great day!!!!

My mom used the Cranberry Auction Barn for her great move out. Since they have a real place and every one knows that they have an auction every Friday night, they don't have to spend the cash to advertise or set up at your place..... I don't think she made a ton of cash, but she didn't feel ripped off.

No idea about fair value, but vintage items are sold and popular on Etsy :: Your place to buy and sell all things handmade

Its sort of like eBay, but for handmade and Vintage items. Nothing else is allowed on the site.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. I'm having a sale at my house on Fri and Sat and will try to peddle the clothes before them to a few vintage and consignment stores. I hadn't heard of Etsy or the Cranberry alt. so I will have to check them out.
