The national tea party movement's recent winning streak broke with Tuesday's primary results, providing fresh evidence of the decentralized conservative network's struggle to convert activist anger and energy into electoral results.
That struggle is likely to continue as Republicans head into general elections without knowing whether conservative activists will throw their support behind more moderate GOP nominees. Even the tea party favorites who prevailed on Tuesday face the new challenge of fighting perceptions of extremism among moderate and independent voters.

Both sides of the political aisle keep close tabs of these early election results. It's not a "liberal" thing to do so, and there is no "brink of communism" in this country to save us all from.

Your point being? The tea party endorsed her she won what is your point exactly? Its pretty bad for Reid when he is in the 30's in polling in his own state. She may win she may not who knows but I am glad that at least a true American will get the chance to unseat that pos.

I find it interesting that the fringe's association with the tea party is the thing working against it.
It may not be representative of the movement as a whole, but the founder's silence on some of the fringe elements that have attached themselves to it have done some damage.
The country, I think, is a bit more moderate than either side wishes to admit.
The Whitman campaign in Calif, is likely what we will see this summer. When the big corporate money gets behind the GOP candidates, it will be non stop TV brain washing. Hopefully, the electorate will be resistant to that, but who knows. Gee thanks Supreme Court.

Are you talking about the people who voted for someone other than Obama in 2008? They are in the minority. How are you and they going to take anything back from anybody without a majority?
