What Obama has done is to polarize the nation and also is causing both major parties to marginalize their "fringers" The Republican Christain Right wing has toned down the rhetoric and has less influence in ther Republican party, while the Democrats are moving center left away from the radicals out of the left wing who are Socialists, Communists and radical Progressives.
So, one thing I see as a positive effect of the Obama Administration is he is moving people to put pressure upon both parties to move more towards the center. After the Novemeber election, it will likely be evident that this country will have moved back toward ceter right and center left government and the Obama radicals, like the leaders of SEIU and ACORN will have lost their power, and that gang, is a good thing.
If the House changes sides, then say good bye to Cap & Trade, and look for a recall to modify on that monsterous health care bill. Remember all bills originate in the House, and if it is controlled by the Republicans, things will definitely change to reverse some of the Obama damage since the Dems took over. We'll see.

I disagree in this respect, both parties, Democratic and Republican, are marginalizing their liberal fringe, and moving to the conservative wing, which is not necessarily to the middle.

Yes, one of them posts the same topic every day. I guess they think that if they just repeat it enough, more people will agree with them. For the most part, though, they're yelling in an echo chamber and they love the sound of their own voices.
I'll give you two that I think are at least a positive baby step.
1. Started to move toward ending the Cuba embargo (just a baby step, but long overdue)
2. At least said he would stop prosecuting weed shops that comply with state laws. Again, a small step that is decades overdue.
Everything else he has done resulted in less freedom, bigger government and higher taxes.
Meanwhile, on the home front in which actual issues really matter-
1. Unemployment remains at 10%
2. The ecnomy sputters
3. Taxes are increasing
4. The national debt is rising to unsustainable levels
5. The annual deficits are over $1 trillion per year
6. The gulf states are in ruins after Obama's oil spill
7. The war has escalated in Afghanistan
8. Obama opposes the only rational laws a state has made to control illegal immigraion
9. A radical muslim state - Iran- has been granted the bomb under Obama
Sorry............................. could you tell me again what Obama has done for the nation? Oh, that's right, something about pot.
