You know what really puzzles me about the GOP. That the same deeply religious, "turn the other cheek"/"love thy neighbor" people who oppose same-sex marriage because Apostle Paul said that it's wrong, and oppose abortion because it involves killing unborn fetuses, somehow turn stone cold and cruel when it comes to practicing real compassion towards real people. That they are opposed to "obamacare" that promises health insurance to 25% of residents of Texas, or that they want to eject all illegal immigrants and take away citizenship from their U.S.-born children.

"They're all in favor of the unborn. They will do anything for the unborn. But once you're born, you're on your own. Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to nine months. Let's dissolve the whole INS department. Look at how much money we will save. We will even announce it at the UN, Hey, everybody in the world, the United States is now an open border country. No rules. No requirements. No nothing. Yawl come. All are welcome. And if you don't get a job, don't worry. The money we saved dissolving the INS will be used to pay you welfare and food stamps and all the health care you need.
Hell, we will even let you children go to any school you want them to, at no cost to you.
Why? because we are compassionate and feel sorry for those that weren't born here and we want everyone in the world to share the American dream.

One thing that liberals always gets wrong as well, is they always tell us Christians that we're contradictory saying that we leave you alone once you're born. as far as what the OP posted, we'll see how the voters respond. I'm going to guess they'll support it and that is how things are supposed to work. Your entire Republican Gestapo seems to be too concerned with illegals being here but doesn't bother asking themselves why do they come here in a first place. It's because the American businessmen lure them here so they could save s***load of money on cheap labor. So if you have a problem with illegal immigration you have to take it up with these guys.
We could probably put a 30 ft high electric fence stretching all the way from Tijuana to Brownsville, and maybe if we lucky it'll cut the immigration by 0.00465%

Geez...look at the list of highlights. They're basically opposing everything Obama's Administration is pushing for. Phasing out Social Security tax? Repeal of ObamaCare? Felony to perform same-sex marriages? Or my personal favorite...American English as the official language? What happened to cause this radical shift in Texas?

How they will go around claiming to be open minded, yet they don't like freedom, they don't like anyone on the right and they assume all of them are this, this, and that, and they are far from being open-minded. Welfare should only be a temporary safety net while a parent gets back on their feet. It shouldn't be for people to just live on. It also shouldn't be available to illegal aliens. George Carlin was a quack.

You are right, we need to start enforcing the laws on employers who hire illegals, as they are the reason they keep coming and stay here.
