Denis Bradley, a former priest who played a key part in secret talks that brought about the IRA ceasefire of 1994 and who was on the Bloody Sunday march 38 years ago, said he was "amazed" at how damning the findings were against the soldiers. "This city has been vindicated, this city has been telling the truth all along."

Lord Maginnis of Drumglas, an Ulster Unionist peer, said the report was "one-eyed" in its emphasis on just 14 of the 180 violent deaths in the province in the preceding year.
Bloody Sunday: Soldiers may face prosecution over 'unjustifiable' killings | UK news | guardian.co.uk

And the soldier's point of view .............

Bloody Sunday paratroopers attack Saville report as 'fundamentally flawed' - Telegraph

"we believe the inquiry as convened was fundamentally flawed and its conclusions based upon a subjective interpretation of only some of the evidence adduced before it.”

It said Lord Saville “chose one position and cherry picked his evidence to support it” and rejected the soldier’s evidence that they came under fire."

In addition .........

"Cameron said the casualties were caused by the soldiers "losing their self control"."

If the soldiers had lost their self control then an awful lot more than 14 people would have been killed. You are not talking about a bunch of amateurs here. There are very few troops as formidable as the British paras.

Anyone waiting for an inquiry into the multiple IRA atrocities? If so, don't hold your breath. This whole thing is hopelessly one sided and will only damage the peace process in Northern Ireland.

Especially when that "occupying army" is supported by a majority of the population of Northern Ireland.

The IRA are terrorists and gangsters. Nothing more, nothing less.

Surely you know that?
Clearly, history is not your strong point.

Your statement is as stupid as saying that Arizona is part of Mexico under American occupation.

Not according to those Americans who, for years, funded the murderers and terrorists of the IRA through Noraid. Democracy comes second to buying guns and Semtex for that lot.

Oh Sweet Lord!

Are either of you even from N.Ireland?!!
I am.

Northern Ireland is made up of 6 counties in the North that were colonized by the British.

Its ridiculous that there is not a United Ireland. The description "Northern Irish" Is UNHEARD of. Usually, if you are Presbyterian you follow the Queen and consider yourself British. Catholic and you would call yourself Irish.

In my eyes, if you were born on the Island of Ireland, you are Irish. Simple no??

Political and Religious based violence is never right. But the families of the victims of Bloody Sunday deserved to have their family members cleared of unfair accusations that they were 'terrorists'. More to do with that i think than the issue of the British killing innocent people, because both sides are guilty of that.

And just for the record, I am from Derry/Londonderry, so i DO know what Im talking about.
