Our new Louisiana poll has a lot of data points to show how unhappy voters in the state are with Barack Obama's handling of the oil spill but one perhaps sums it up better than anything else- a majority of voters there think George W. Bush did a better job with Katrina than Obama's done dealing with the spill

Public Policy Polling: Fallout from the Spill

Holy Mac and Cheese man

Well, FEMA and help did come within the week of Katrina, and they had to deal with thugs shooting at them.

It's day 57 in the oil spill and Obama has yet to do anything of real importance to the situation while BP keeps shooting itself in the foot.

Try comparing apples to apples first.

Dealing with the aftermath of a hurricane is something that we have done numerous times...how many oil disasters from a deep water well have we had to stop?

This is a great question. It's hard to determine based on the cause of events, both are horrible catastrophes nontheless. I suppose one could agrue that the Katrina problem still isn't solved

What an unfair comparison...The COUNTRY's criticism of Bush in regards to his lack of initial response to Hurricance Katrina, a NATURAL disaster, appeared to be racially motivated. With the oil rig explosion and subsequent spill, because of the technical aspect of the issue, President Obama was forced to bring in scientists and engineers to help address and resolve the issue. He didn't fail to respond, or act, it's just that the oil spill is an environmental issue that requires thorough investigation, deliberation, precision and specific scientific knowledge, before ANYONE can adequately and efficiently act/resolve the issue.

It's as if people expect President Obama to "plug the hole" with his bare hands! Let's not be reasonable...Just another ploy and/or attempt to negate President Obama, who has done an outstanding job in his YEAR AND A HALF as President. "No weapon formed against him shall prosper"...

I agree. No one has come up with a solution yet so why is a White House miracle expected? Obama has attempted to clean up the MMS as early as last September but obviously the problems were deep-seated enough not to allow such an easy fix:

U.S. Department of the Interior - Salazar Ends Controversial Royalty in Kind Program (http://www.doi.gov/archive/news/09_News_Releases/091609.html - broken link)

Also keep in mind that LA is one of the most Republican states in the union where McCain won it with 58.6% of the vote.

ummm they didnt ask me. I think Bush did little.

Obama is dong more but they need to start by gathering their own info , not assume BP will tell them the truth... amazing how the amount of oil just tripled from previous estimates.
