This bill is about control and reminds me of Hitler.

To require all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, to authorize the induction of persons in the uniformed services during wartime to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services, and for other purposes.

Default New bill H.R. 5741

"To require all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, to authorize the induction of persons in the uniformed services during wartime to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services, and for other purposes."

My take is Charles Rangle is trying to get attention.

Interesting..it changes the Selective Service Act to also include registration of females 18-26.

That's some military we're gonna build..both combatant and non-combatant.

Rangle has been pushing for this for a long time. It's unlikely to go anywhere. His argument has been that Congress is too quick to declare war when they know it won't affect their own families. If there was a draft, perhaps Congress would think a little harder before sending our troops off to war.

OMG are you kidding! What are they doing up there in Washington. Don't they realize we abolished the draft? And Rangle.......please help me understand the extremely tainted mind set of his and the rest of them.

He's having Colin Powell fantasies of a great volunteer nation, all giving and receiving, no one left out........guess what; I don't want to volunteer and to make me volunteer, make me volunteer.

How do you make someone volunteer. You can't; that's why they want to make it a law. Hmmmmm what will the penalty be if you don't comply?

That just sounds crazy. Come on people there are so many things that need the leaders attention and they come off with this.

Time for a change.

Rangel knew that he was on his way out and is trying to get some attention but I see just what others do in that Obama is trying to build up his control over the military and using this law to create his civilian "army" under the control of the President. Now how many terms does he envision himself serving? He has much of the Constitution destroyed so why not just wipe out amendment 25 and stay for life.

This is progressive Pelosi aimed at taking over the lives of people of the age listed. I see it just as the OP as a form of progressive slavery. They can slip this one through while we worry about the economy and other much more important things. We must watch H. R. 5741 and its movement through the present Congress.

But this can't be. Alex Jones talked about this back in March 2009 in his move "The Obama Deception." HMM
