No, Cuba is not our enemy, the FL electoral votes that contain an undue number of anti-Castro refugees is our enemy.

End the embargo, 50 years against an economy that has a fraction of the GDP of Montana is bad enough.

Cuba was never our enemy....WAY back in prehistoric times [1960 or so] Fidel Castro came to the US and asked the President of the United States if he would assist him in overthrowing the Dictator Juan Fulgencia Batista and if he would Castro would be a lifeling friend of the US.
The president said oh noooooo Juan is our friend and he gives us cheap sugar.

SO Fidel went to Russia and he asked Uncle Nikki Kruschev if he would assist him in overthrowing the Dictator Juan Fulgencia Batista and if he would Castro would be a lifelong friend of the USSR.

Nikita said OF COURSE Fidel....we would be glad to help.

And Fidel kept his word.

Something that is quite rare in the world today.

It never was our enemy. If we had said "Mr. Castro, welcome to the community of American nations. We will be watching with interest your experiment in social democracy. If there is anything we can do to help the Cuban people prosper and flourish, please let us know."

What would have been the harm in that? How would things have turned out 50 years later? Would Cubans be better off now than they are?

Yes. Because at one time, with the USSR's help they could have pasted the East Coast with nukes. And the same men who were in power then, and hated our guts then, are still in power and hate our guts now.

I say we choke the Castro brothers out.

We have seen the enemy, and he is thee.
USA and Cuba are strange bed love partners really. And Cuba needs the USA, way more than the USA needs Cuba.

It's like a love hate relationship.
