BP has a much bigger oil production platform in the gulf, BP Atlantis. At a depth of 7,000 feet, and producing 4-5 times the volume of Deepwaterhorizon, BP Atlantis is facing scrutiny after a whistle-blower revealed there were no current detailed drawings of the platform structure, which would be essential in the event of an emergency to shut down production.

Should BP be forced to shut down production at BP Atlantis until safety issues have been adequately addressed?

BP has known about these issues since 2008. In light of the current disaster, what should happen to BP Atlantis? Business as usual, or get your house in order? I say the latter.

BP should be EXPELLED from the United States and its coast. Shut down, packed up and booted out. The fact that it has over 700 safety violations while in contrast the other major oil companies such as Exxon have LESS THAN 10 during the same period should tell people that this is NOT a business we want operating here.
