I'm a Texan, and i saw a Washington D.C. license plate on a cargo van.

Take a look at this image. at the bottom of the license plate it says "Taxation Without Representation"

I Googled it and it and according to http://www.worldlicenceplates.com/usa/US_DCXX.html all D.C. passenger cars have this on their license plate.

I thought the Boston Tea Party cry was "No Taxation without Representation!"

am I missing something?

If you Googled it you probably learned that these plates have been around for more than 10 years and are one of two available licence plate options. Citizens of the District of Columbia have no voting representation in the House or Senate.

The cry for independence was "no taxation without representation." Yet 200 years later, our nation's capital still has taxation without representation and couldn't even vote for president until the 1960s.

I didn't find that mentioned where i looked, that makes a lot of sense.

so D.C. is federal property is that right?

so how does census zoning work for them?

do they have a city hall?

apparently they have a mayor: Adrian Fenty

ok i digress, i guess i was reading too much into it.

but maybe they shouldn't do such a political message on something that represents the capitol city in this country.

But, by golly, if you lobbied DC government for a license tag protesting the trampling of 2nd Amendment rights in DC, you'd be strung up on a pole and treated like a criminal! That's how ****ed up the liberal thought process is in this town.

They chose to live in DC or chose not to leave it. IT's in the constitution. If you want representation, move to MD or VA.
