Unlike South Carolina's Greene, Rogers ran a high profile campaign, staking out a corner on a major intersection in the district to appear almost daily with a large sign: "Save NASA. Impeach Obama." She garnered 7,467 votes, 53% of the vote, in a three way race that included a local information systems analyst Doug Blatt, who gained endorsements from local Democratic clubs and labor groups, and Freddie John Weider Jr., a preacher and onetime Libertarian candidate
So I guess those Texas democrats are in agreement with the candidate?
Oh, a couple other things: the candidate is a black female.
This is my district. I heard nothing about her in the news - which lends creedance to the fact that main line democrats want nothing to do with her.
From the linked article above...
Meanwhile, the state party has adopted a resolution denying any party support for Rogers, citing the alleged racist and discriminatory views of the LaRouche movement — allegations that Rogers, who is African-American, firmly rejects. District 22 has also been stricken from the party's official online list of congressional races.
So this LaRouche movement is so racist that a black female stands proudly behind it. The whole race claim is so inbred into their psyche that Democrats throw it out even if it makes entirely no sense.

The LaRouche movement is extremely anti-semitic, but I don't think they have a position on African-Americans. They are a part of the far left/far right nexus.

There's a lot of extreme directions there - anti-semintic, far left, far right - how do you put all of that together.
All I know is I wish she was in the 18th district taking on Sheila Jackson-Lee - now THAT would be interesting. I like that she calls it as it is with regards to the Obama administration.

There are some issues which the far left and far right agree upon, often involving Israel and Jews. For example, Cynthia McKinney of the Green Party fraternizing with neo-Nazi Willis Carto, engaging in Holocaust denial, and embracing the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
Does "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" need explaining?
The LaRouchites infiltrated the antiwar movement during the Bush administration (much to the anger of legit opponents of the Iraq war), and now they're infiltrating the tea parties. They are an odd mix of far left and far right, and best categorized as authoritarian and statist. They think that Obama's a puppet of "Marxist Jews", "international banker Jews", and the British monarchy (?????) Besides Jews, they also really hate gays and immigrants.

I doubt you'd embrace all of her views. I doubt too many people outside of the LaRouche movement would embrace its views. Those people are really nuts.
