Obama is attempting by fiat what the left has always wanted - no offshore drilling...period.

He is destroying the gulf coast economies......but those are republican states, run by respublicans.......maybe we know the reason why he is doing this.
The reason why he is doing this is big oil created a massive disaster, and was woefully unprepared to clean up the mess they created. This type of drilling should not occur until we know exactly what went wrong and we have the safety procedures in place not only to prevent this type of disaster from occurring again, but to clean it up if it does happen again.

I can agree with all you say but fail to see that the government didn't get all over the butt of BP to clean it up and when some people tried to clean up and hold it back didn't allow it to happen. Now I know that a good crisis can do so much for you but when it hurts the whole nation as this one did and will continue to hurt for years I can't go along.

Our nation is much more important than The Man's Cap and Trade program but he can't see that.

They were all over BP to clean up right from the start. BTW, the Moratorium was only on the 33 deep water rigs which make up a mere 5% of the production in the Gulf.

Why exactly are we drilling so far out? In water so deep? You can thank the democrats, the liberal and the environmentalists.

Costing hundreds of millions in the gulf state economies, with the threat of those rigs leaving for good. It's not just the oil workers jobs that are at stake, but the local economies that support those workers as well.
