Why was there a need for the Government to make a proclamation like this anyhow. Family Leave Act. I mean seriously, have we fallen that far from decency in this country that the government needed to mandate that companies have to give you time off to care for a sick relative? It's common sense to me. Why are we rewriting our laws to accommodate a sexual perversion?

What is it that you find disgusting? gays? OR that a gov't has to mandate that its straight employees can take time off to care for a sick relative?
shockingly, I noticed that you marked "not sure" about whether the gov't should have done this or not. Why didn't you mark that you weren't in agreement with it?
If I co-habitate with an individual (which I have done for 15 years), am I afforded the same "rights" as the gays? Is the family and medical leave act being extended to straight non married couples?

I don't really care what you, or anyone else agrees with. I want the same rights that are guaranteed by the constitution (which I am sure most of you claim to cherish) and the equal protection clause, specifically. I think the overwhelming majority of gays would agree with this. It's not about what you or anyone else agrees with. You are more than free to disagree-- but not discriminate. I think someone mentioned earlier that they couldn't take FMLA for their "boyfriend" in a heterosexual relationship. Why are homosexuals receiving special treatment because of their sexual proclivities?

If homosexuals were allowed to be legally married, there wouldn't be any need for "special treatment" Why are hetero couples afforded "special treatments"? They get to marry and reap all the benefits that come along with marriage. I was responding to your post. I don't know you, but the language on your post - which I believe you wrote told me a little about yourself. Calm down don't be so upset. I'm not acting holier than thou, nothing in my post said I was. Possibly could be your wishy washy ways with your belief lead u to believe that I was. You can't take certain things from the bible and leave what you don't want. If you believe in GOD.. why would you only choose to believe he is love. But not believe the rest of his words. Yes, he is love!!! And, I love you - that's what my church and minister taught me.
