An opinion piece is not fact.

If Gen McChrystal made these comments after being fired, it would come out as sour grapes, and no one would really listen. He and his staff, run by a colonel no less, knew exactly what they were doing when they said yes to the interview. This whole "he's naive" narrative from the WH is the only naive thing in this dust-up. You don't get to his position, SPECOPS or logistics, without being VERY politically savvy. His rules of engagement were being muddied up at the ground level because of all of the fear felt of making a misstep.

The general had final approval. It's on him.

Don't get too excited. If Obama is a leader, he will now review the substance of McChrystals comments and act on them.

Patraeus feels the same way as McCrystal. No one respects these clowns running our country.
