And lets not forget that Spain's whole "green jobs" idea failed. They admitted it themselves and for us to follow them is insane and stupid.

And its not that we dont understand the energy policy, its that is there really even a policy in place to understand? There is no plan whatsoever. Unless you count the disaster that is Cap and Trade. That will be a huge blow to America and Americans if its passed. And when Obama said under his "plan" energy prices will sky rocket, he wasnt kidding.
While we need to continue trying to find a source of energy other than oil that will prove reliable and long lasting, the fact is there just isnt anything right now and probably wont be anything for a very long time. So the common sense solution for right now it expanding exploration. Expanding drilling. Sorry lefties but that is the only way to go right now.
And to those that fall in the realm of thinking of idiots in Hollywood, like Ashton Kutcher, then I expect you to STOP driving anything other than an electric car. Stop flying as well. And stop slamming us for wanting to find more oil for our own country, while countries you praise like Venezuela and Brazil are doing what we should be doing. They are still finding oil sources and taking it while they can still find it. We should be doing the same damn thing.

Americans don’t "don’t understand". We understand perfectly. We understand that "energy policy" to the left means moving away from cheep energy. THAT is the problem.

Liberals want to move to expensive, unproven technologies that require huge investment of monies our nation does not have AND that, at the end of the day will drive up the cost of energy for every single American by at least double the current cost.

Doubling the cost to heat and cool our homes and getting to and from work does not fix the “energy problem” nor does it provide reform. Unless you believe that regressive punitive action is what reform is all about.
In the meantime, what if we were to cut back on our demand for fossil-fuel products? It seemed to work last summer with gasoline.

"America's Magical Thinking on Energy"
More like liberal magical thinking on energy as they seem to believe all it takes is two snaps and an extra tax to replace a known, efficient and relatively inexpensive commodity with an unknown, unproven and many times more costly replacement that has yet to even be identified.

Our current renewable energies, wind and solar, or even ethanol, are very expensive and unreliable. The more wind and solar we bring on-line and integrate into the nation's electrical grid, the more unstable it becomes, and the less able we are to meet the projected load requirements.

We have detailed charts and graphs for the projected electrical load, based upon weather predictions and living habits of the people. We can prepare in advance, and ensure the power is made available when the Christmas lights get turned on, the Super Bowl is on the TV, or manufacturers or businesses increase production. We can easily ramp up and down the power requirements with natural gas, coal and nuclear power generation plants. We cannot make the wind blow or the clouds go away just when we need that energy the most.

The myth that wind and solar will meet our energy demands, that is "America's Magical Thinking on Energy". When energy solutions do not make any sense, and will actually harm our economy and our day-to-day lives, but politicians demand we go ahead with them any way, then it is political.

So you think tax payers should pay for it? So you want the government to do everything for you right? I thought so, you must have grown up with that mentality passed down to you. Private investors and private industry need to take the lead on this with, wait for it, wait for it, PRIVATE MONEY! T.Boone Pickens tried very hard to get that ball rolling but the feds put the block on.

...and of course, the way to "pay for it" is to let government increase our taxes, so they can best decide where our $$ should go. They will just buy more votes, like the did during the health care legislation process, or add 9,000 more earmarks to a single omnibus bill, like they did in 2009, or use it to bail out union retirement benefits packages, like they are trying to do in 2010.

The liberal's playbook has two chapters which they think will solve every problem. Chapter one consists of two magical words, Increase Taxes. Chapter two only needs the title, "Increase Powers and Authority to the Federal Government".

Just ask Barney Frank, he could solve all our problems if we just gave him more authority and more tax dollars. In other words, if Barney was able to operate like the old Soviet Union Premiere, then things would be perfect.
