I lived in southern Louisiana for several years and the heat is indeed oppressive. However, for oil to go from a liquid to a gas and be absorbed by the clouds would require a temperature greater than that inside an auto engine running without water in the radiator.

That was my first thought as well.. At what temperature does oil turn into a gas so it can evaporate?

Liberals lying as usual? Possibly...

of course they are, oil doesn't evaporate under livable temperatures.

Oil does evaporate but at a very SLOW speed... even water evaporates over time at room temperature... with high temps in the Gulf and the amount of oil leaked over a large surface area, and over a very, very long time now... I would not be at all surprise that oil turns into a gas and comes back down... if you can "smell" the oil over the spill, its already in gas form...

My guess is what they are seeing is some of the natural gas that is also coming from the broken pipe and making its way to the surface. There may be some oil evaporating but down there, where the average humidity is close to 100%, even water evaporates at an extremely slow rate.

Yeah, Alex Jones would fit the profile.

What I see there proves nothing, but that the alarmist video was recorded in an area with plenty of "pre-existing conditions". Nothing in it suggests oil being a part of the rain (or we will see it in more places than a localized shot of the drainage system). Although, at least a part of the fumes being burnt at sea is going to mix and come down as rain.

I'd be worried once the tropical storms and hurricanes strike the area.
