And the knowledge of that over there may be keeping a lot of the locals from assisting more effectively. With a timeline, all of them know that payback will be coming, and when.

Define "win" please. The Taliban will be back, ok. What about al qaeda, remember them. They have a strong presence in many countries all around the world.

I don't know what win is anymore but if we withdraw you can be sure that Al Qaeda will be back from Pakistan when we are gone. Its hard to remember the original mission in some of these so called wars it seems to be a work in progress. I have to wonder if Bush went into Iraq to prove something because he felt Afghanistan was doomed to failure. After all Russia was right next door and still failed.
