Please look at the history of welfare reform and present-day workfare requirements, and eligible recipients and cut-off dates. You'll see that times have drastically changed, and your wish has just about come true.
You can beg these people to get up to speed but it will never happen.

Provide Section 8 housing, provide government food no issue there.
No more giving women money to have more children out of wedlock.
Make it impossible for illegals to get any money as well.
Theres generations of people who only know welfare...
Lets have a program where they are forced to work for housing..
And the Basics. Some people on welfare have it better than the..
Working poor.

Sure, lets start with the biggest welfare Momma of them all: Corporations.

You're cool with that right?

Currently, 1.7% of our population is receiving welfare. I think we can find bigger fish to fry.

Marriage based welfare? How about keeping marriage out of government's hands, and keeping it a strictly personal business? If you are against welfare, you should be against welfare. Period. No picking and choosing between what you think is okay versus not. When we combine what everybody thinks, we get to the point where we're at today.

If NO to welfare, NO to ALL of it.

PS. What about corporate welfare? You should make a point or two about that as well.

How come the righties get quiet and do not say anything when it comes to corporate welfare? But talk about helping the poor and that is *gasp* SOCIALISM!

How about an even better example. We spend more on our military than the next 50 largest ones combined. Talk about making cuts there and they throw temper tantrums that would do a teenage girl proud, then they turn around and scream bloody murder about the welfare that goes to 1.7% of our population.

Do you think they've been trained to think that way or is it that the RW manipulators tap into a personality quality that already exists? Nature or nurture?

I would like to see "End Welfare" (with a list of every item they want to do away with) be a part of Tea Party platform.

It sickens me to see how people are "shaking down" companies and depriving them of corporate welfare. Corporate tax breaks do not impact the deficit. Let us screw the common unemployed man - he deserves it.

At the same time, I am not a fan of giving even a dime to anchor babies etc. We need to make it illegal for kids of illegals to automatically become US citizens.
