Seeing a fair amount of posting about certain religions not being peaceful, etc.

Give me a religion that does not have a history inclusive of warfare or a present wrangling with violence.

Does such a religion exist?

Not trying to equate present-day radical Islamic acts with radical Christian acts that took place hundreds of years ago are you?

Whats happening now will be a thousand years in the past someday too. He asked a simple question can you answer it? Are there no Christians who are killing and waring now?

Nope, there isn't. I don't see any holy wars being conducted, do you? On our side anyway

You are assuming Islamic countries will go through a period of Enlightenment similar to the one that brought the nations of Christendom out of the Dark Ages. Not Likely based on current evidence.

One of the problems with that argument is that "radicalism" is generally the expression of those either don't control their own destiny or have that perception. It is easy for Christians of the 20th and 21st Century to pursue a "peaceful" course since it is fairly obvious that they control the world's most powerful nations. But having said that, there are plentiful examples of small and isolated examples of Christians who have committed a number of violent acts and atrocities in the name of their god, including the Serbians, and Nigerians who haven't been shy about killing in Jesus' name.

To answer the OP's question...

It would seem that no one gets off proclaiming that their religion is the religion of peace, even the Buddhist.

No, I'm not. I actually study Buddhist history which is rife with warfare too.
