I don't know how young you are but I can guarantee you that we didn't study history from the same kind of books if you are under 40. So many things that were in books when I went to high school, college, and even in the years I went to college aren't in the books anymore. There has been a severe change of many things since progressives took over writing most of the books.
Yes, some historians these days will actually choose to write about how things really happened as opposed to the "indian offering the pilgrim a turkey" story. But hey, considering that the reality of our own nation's history can be so contradictory and painful to what we think happened or to the values we state as the national values today, I can see why there is some confusion as to why some people are bothering to clarify history.

The truth is, its kind of silly to think that we are immune from any climate calamity. Our technology cannot prevent the gradual onset of an ice age. Are you unaware of the fact that there are people who fact check these things before someone becomes president as Obama currently is. You are owed NOTHING in terms of proof of document.
The birther movement is a very ugly and strange one indeed. I mean no personal offense. It's more a direct slam on the stupidity of the movement.
