No different than what you did.

Byrd was a racist. You can't handle that so you throw out personal attacks on republicans, assuming I am one.

Very typical, if you ask me.

No, he wasn't a racist and repeating it won't make it true( a TYPICAL REPUG thing to do).

PS: A "personal" attack in CD is calling another specific poster a name. When referring to Repugs in general it is acceptable.

It makes me laugh how people can just overlook that part of his life.
Wasn't exactly 'much later' in life. He voted the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (which dealt with housing discrimination). Fact of the matter is his past views were utterly horrific, and heinous however he changed those views more than 40 years ago, spoke out against his previous views.

Wonder if she'll get hammered for that like Trent Lott did for saying nice things about Strom Thurmond.

Nahh.......who am I kidding? Dems CAN'T be racist!!! Nevermind history!
Did Klobuchar wish Byrd was President during the heyday of his racism??

he was a member of the kkk. when criticizing republicans, dems don't much care about whether or not it was history or current...if it serves them, they'll throw it out there.

When you attack "repugs" and then call me one, yes--it's a personal attack.

It would be no different than saying all democrats are morons and then calling you a democrat (not that I'm doing that).

Yes, Byrd will certainly go down in history as one of the most interesting politicians of all time...

no, there is a big difference. We all know when once elected it is almost impossible to replace a sentor or congressman. This does not mean he wasn't well like, of course he was and WV for some reason is a more liberal state than many in the proximity.

Still term limits should be in place. At least here in AR we have them for state offices.
