JFK had MLK thrown in jail. The deal was to get him out, only if he supported the Democratic party.
MLK was a staunch Republican, until the day he made a deal with the devil.
Actually JEH had MLK thrown in jail. And the deal with him getting out of jail had nothing to do with partisan politics. If anyone knows they're history, if JFK and the dems were viewed as the party of the blacks they'd have never won in 1960.

The Democrats held a majority of political offices in the South until 1995. Civil Rights legislation may have affected the 1964, 1966, and 1968 election cycles, but aside from those years the South remained fanatically loyal to the Democrats well into the 90s. Conservative Southern Democrats are still an important part of the Democratic party today, through the Blue Dog Coalition.
Yes he was registered a R. Feel free to look who who he endorsed after the right became the party of the Nixons of this world and whom his remaining blood endorses.
MLK would NEVER in a million years be part of today's progressives. He would not be allowed and would be destroyed. Today's Progressives are the new Communists. Your boy Van Jones is one of them. Why does every progressive Democratic organization's website link out to the Socialist Party and the CPUSA? Why does the CPUSA say this:
"Founded in 1919, the Communist Party USA has championed the
struggles for democracy, labor rights, women’s equality,
racial justice and peace for ninety years. The Communist Party has an unparalleled history in the progressive movement of the United States, from the struggle against Jim
Crow segregation, the organizing of the industrial unions,
from the canneries of California, to the sweatshops of New
York City"
The Democrat Party website doesn't have any links to the Communist Party. Perhaps your list of "progressive Democratic organizations" is the problem. What progressive Democratic organizations are you talking about? Why don't you list them for us?
