What are you kidding RIGHT! with Obama and Co no need for lies, the Dems and Company are pretty good at putting their foot in their own mouths! haven't noticed, then there is something wrong and proof is in the pudding. Only thing to prove is that we have a sucky economy and not getting better, terrible unempoyment situation, worse housing situation ever, the most foreclosures and short sales, businesses shutting down, and anin't getting better any time soon, Oh on OBAMA'S WATCH!

but they sure want OTHER COUNTRIES HELP ALL OF A SUDDEN.....now isn't that odd? NOT!
Good point. Maybe those Europeans aren't so bad after all...

I doubt Obama is making all the decisions by himself.

The feds did screw up by not waiving the federal regulations that prohibit any oil to be put into water. (the reason EPA officials declined the Dutch skimmers) and to waive the Jones Act. Oh yeah, I think the sand dikes should have been begun long ago. The article below is an informative NON-partisan article.

A question for you guys: Before this disaster would you have supported the type of response system the Dutch have in place? The info is in the article.

You've got to be kidding.

Obama accepted essentially NOTHING for help offered by foriegn nations with regard to oil skimmers and erecting floating barricades.

This is funny as hell. I am sure, that despite Obama's failure to do ANYTHING for six weeks, that the left will find some way to justify his completely incompetent management of this disaster.

When one is so partisan, the safety and health of the nation take second place to party mantra and the image of Obama. That is very sad. The rest of us want a safe, secure, and prosperous nation. You just want Obama- regardless of what the hell he does.

Wow. It is so clear that Obama has done little and next to nothing but talk to deal with this clean up. And STILL, idiot liberals or just plain old know-nothings, will come on here and defend him. Word of advice for you people: seek help. You obviously have sort of disorder or something. Your pathetic loyalty to this man is disgraceful and embarrassing.

Yes, as a first response to a major spill. Using their inadequate skimmers (according to our EPA regs) does not mean we couldn't follow up with a more thorough clean up once we got the majority of the oil out of the water. It seems we preferred an all or nothing approach and chose nothing (or next to nothing) because we don't have anything that can handle all of the oil and water from a spill of this size. If the government is taking charge of the clean-up why doesn't the government have the equipment or be willing to accept it from another country? That would make sense to me.

There is NO NEED TO DEFEND President Obama. The facts do that themselves. All the ultra-extremists neo-cons have are a couple of "entertainers" who are obsessed with attempting to obfuscate what is really going on and what the facts really are.

The fact(s) are: The U.S. Gov't started accepting help on 30 Apr 2010. Those countries who have OFFERED help, w/ the condition that we pay above average rates for those assets and THEIR CREWS have been told their offers are under consideration. The others who have offered the purchase of chemicals that are NOT APPROVED for use in U.S. waters at above average rates, have been told their assets won't be allowed to be used simply for that reason. They ARE ILLEGAL TO USE IN OUR WATERS.

The people who need help...are the ones who continue to argue against facts, against reality and want to rail on topics which have absolutely no basis or grain of truth in them. AKA, Republicans.

Maybe he prefers to walk on oil. This has been a disgrace. My liberal friends used to praise him, now I don't hear a word from them.

Repugs:

"OH the GOVERNMENT should've done more ! The GOVERNMENT should've done more!

It should've been BIG enough to take care of EVERYTHING, not the poor little states, NOT Our God The Corporation who CAUSED the leak!

Please, Big Government , spend as much tax money as possible!!

And,ask for help from other countries(which we hate but oh well). Don't pay any attention to the logistics of THAT nightmare ...just SAVE our fellow Americans that we usually hate and Save The Wildlife we haven't ever given a damn about before!""

Good lord, look how long some of these have been "under consideration";

http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/143488.pdf (broken link)

Look at this:

http://blogs.tampabay.com/photo/2010...ola-beach.html

Two weeks ago the CG finally acknowledged they needed more skimmers and booms - and more than a month and a half after Jindal and other local officials begged for more.

Quote:
Three days after the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico began on April 20, the Netherlands offered the U.S. government ships equipped to handle a major spill, one much larger than the BP spill that then appeared to be underway.
Here's the friggin holdup;

Quote:
The voracious Dutch vessels, for example, continuously suck up vast quantities of oily water, extract most of the oil and then spit overboard vast quantities of nearly oil-free water. Nearly oil-free isn’t good enough for the U.S. regulators, who have a standard of 15 parts per million — if water isn’t at least 99.9985% pure, it may not be returned to the Gulf of Mexico.
Is this the most insane thing you've ever heard of?

There came be no other conclusion, this must be intentional on obama's part. After all, those are ALL red states that are taking the brunt of the spill and his moratorium.
