From your own source.

Law enforcement officials on both sides of the border agree that the United States is the source for most of the guns used in the violent drug cartel war in Mexico.

Not that I care, but if you want to give part of the story credibility, you can't cherry pick it.

I am not the one twisting the op into a thread about illegals, this has already been done by other posters in the thread.
Just so you understand where I am coming from, I of course agree that there is a huge drug problem in our country and that the cartels play a part in it, supplying the drug to our nation of addicts. However, many like Governor Brewer use the fear of cartels as a way to bash illegal immigrants and further their own agendas. This I have an issue with.

However. Don't believe all the hype about "border violence".

While I agree with your points in general I would observe that Tucson is not particular low in crime. About par or even a little worse than par for a good sized SW city.

You DO know that automatic weapons are heavily regulated in the USA???

You can't simply go out and buy one.
Er...my neighbor (who is a class 3 FFL dealer) up the street can get you 50 w/in 72 hours of your class 3 license being approved.

I can get you up to 6 full auto M4's, 2 M-16's, 10 PS 90's, and 10 MP-5's all select fire, within 48 hours of your class 3 being approved. The grenade launcher is more paperwork, but can be yours for a price and all applicable tax stamps w/in 24 hours of approval. But good luck w/ the rounds.

Of course all weapons must be shipped to a licensed FFL dealer, w/ full paperwork and compliance for class 3 license handling approved before sale completion.

So, weapons such as these, can clearly be had, if even in these numbers within 90 days of license application (if all goes well). How easy do you think it would/will be for illegal arms sales to be?

I find it amusing people easily buy into the upper levels of US government being corrupted by the drug cartel money, but that Billy Bob down the street in his gun shop would never do anything illegal.

Agree. But don't get me wrong, I've seen way too many crates that when opened have brand new unfired military weapons in them. Now, theft happens, but not that often.

Where would the gun shop buy Class III weapons from?

Does the gun shop have a Class III license?

How many NFA firearms are available at this point in time?

Thanks.

Can he get 147 full auto AK's?

Doubtful.

About the only group that could do that is the fedgov.

I believe most are not true submarines but semi-submersibles.

Quick search and it seems only about 700 NFA firearms are available at any particular time in this country...
