Odd that people who denounce Byrd for his membership in the KKK support people who have ties to White Power groups.

Whatever.............must be very neat and simple in your world of solid, pure and very concrete "good" and "evil"......good/bad.....black/white.

There is a difference between being a confirmed and open leader of the KKK versus having some tabloid rumored ties to White Power.

Either way, I don't support those people. Not all of us choose to drink the Kool Aid. Some of us have enough conviction that we can willingly admit that people of our party are F$#$ Up. Sorry but I'm not one of those Republicans who defend Strom and Jesse.

No, it's called intelligence. I can recognize that a leader of the KKK and a person who opposed the Civil Rights movement is not a good person. It's sad that you can't recognize that. If you need to contrive some Karmic grayscale to feel superior in that you aren't "judging people" so be it. I just think you are a coward who lacks conviction. Maybe you find Hitler to have some redeeming qualities...I could care less.

Jeff Sessions, Charles Pickering, Haley Barbour, Trent Lott, Kirk Fordice, Guy Hunt, Tom Tancredo, etc.

Not to mention the late Sen. Helms.

I believe in redemption - not the religious kind, but the kind that allows me to forgive a person and move on.

I think it's best to judge a person by the totality of his or her life - not just one part of it.

You don't even know how I feel about Senator Byrd one way or the other. I'm commenting on your childish insistence that people and the world are so neatly categorized as good or bad. You're pretty quick to judge and call names when challenged I see. I must have touched a nerve by calling you out on your simplistic perception in this instance.
