So on the 4th, I thought I'd start a fun thread asking what you liked the most about the U.S. It can be anything you want. Here's mine:
1. The freedom to speak out against your govt.
2. Grilled food
3. Overall decent folks.
4. Years of overcoming injustice, from slavery to civil rights and beyond.
5. Stunning natural beauty.
6. Different cultures and attitudes from region to region.

In my neck of the woods in Kentucky, I love the scenic beauty and the folks around here.
For the whole country, I love that you have the opportunity to change generations of failure and accounting to nothing in your family if you decide you want it bad enough. I also love the appreciation of the volunteer military this country has.
The U.S. has a lot wrong with it today, but for me this is still the best deal out there.
The best thing is there are still places that are not over populated and other words living out in the boonies.I am very thankfull that I was able to escape the big city rat race.
1. The stunningly beautiful and diverse landscapes
2. All of our freedoms: speech, religion, etc.
3. People's spirit of innovation to improve situations
4. Our sense of hope

Forgot about that last one. Optimism is priceless in a society. Good one!
The level of free speech. That we are still a people with teh space and lower tax levels to get on the homeownership latter. That its easier to be off the governamnt dependence if you work hard and not be so enslved. That people are still every indivdual and independent. Just the fact that most are really very american and unique rather than poiltcally corrected. That is really what freedom is to me.Government would much rather a cookie cutter citizen;like the homes; of their choice but americans resist any such thing.
