Charles Krauthammer always hits the nail on the head:
Krauthammer Bashes Obama's Infantile NASA Muslim Outreach Program - Video - YouTube (http://www.wikio.com/video/krauthammer-bashes-obama-infantile-nasa-program-3626704 - broken link)
What a bunch of know-nothing nonsense. I always assume that it is simply far-left liberals blowing some small FOX misstatement or slight slant/spin out of proportion, but that supposed "news article" is clearly cherry-picked to be as much a propaganda piece as Ted Rall's opinion column. What a bunch of yellow journalism!
If NASA is not mining the Arab world for talent, then they ought to be. If talented Muslim physicists, engineers, and mathematicians feel like they cannot work in concert with NASA scientists, then this is a serious problem for the space agency. I see nothing wrong with the NASA administrator appearing on Arab, Chinese, or Australian television stations and telling anyone who will listen that we want to cooperate with their scientists. Only someone driven completely insane by partisanship would think this is somehow a bad thing.
Astronomy is a global undertaking, and we cannot maintain observations and communications with stars, planets, and spacecraft without having friendly ground stations in all parts of the world. Muslim astronomers have historically been essential to our understanding of the cosmos, and that hasn't changed due to the actions of Al-Queda or GWB.
Spaceflight is a difficult proposition, and we need to draw on the global talent pool if we are going to successfully build ships and machinery to exploit the resources that are out there beyond LEO.
I somewhat support the current plan for NASA. It lays important groundwork that was ignored over the last 10 years. The best thing about the new plan is the end of the Ares-I launch vehicle or "Widowmaker" as it is nicknamed in honest engineering circles. Any rocket scientist worth his salt will tell you that putting people together with solid rockets is a great way to kill astronauts and waste money.
I disapprove of not going back to the moon the establish a permanent outpost. I approve of maintaining the ISS. I strongly approve of involving home-grown private industry. I disapprove of not having a hard-and-fast mid-term goal. I approve of setting goals appropriate to the level of funding it is politically possible to gather for NASA.
Anyone who doesn't have mixed feelings about any aspect of something as complicated and difficult as a comprehensive plan to explore space doesn't know what they are talking about and is just using the issue as a political football in their insane loser's game of partisan politics.
If that's you, then please go screech about oil, guns, or abortion, and leave the real thinking to the grownups.
Oh boy,... when does it end with all the propaganda garbage from fox news?

President Obama doing an exceptional job...and don't you forget it.
Yeah, would be better to get your news from Al JAzeera...

though international diplomacy would seem well outside NASA's orbit, Bolden said in an interview with Al Jazeera that strengthening those ties was among the top tasks President Obama assigned him. He said better interaction with the Muslim world would ultimately advance space travel.
There is a company in Sealy (TX) that has provided the military with vehicles for years that Obama last year gave the contract to a company in Wisconsin.
I think any chance he can hurt Texas, he will take advantage of it.
He's got to cripple the cash flow in the south before he can make the final push of the economy into progressive socialism. According to Alexus, a fine job indeed. And don't you forget it.
Great idea. Teach Muslims how to build rockets that go further in distance so they can bring that info back home with them.
I'm sure Iran would just love to get that technology and put a nuke warhead on it. Would make 9/11 look like a day in the park.

Our governor keeps saying no to Fed handouts that have strings attached.
I do think we're getting the squeeze here.
Ask for border help...nothing.
EPA rescinds permits
Gov't contracts going to other states
Texas Dems, by special clause, cannot participate in Fed funds allotment for education discussion and decisons. Congress said Texas misused the stimulus money but didn't say how or why or what..no details.
Anyone see a pattern here ?
Perry said no to the stimulus unemployment funds..would have made Texas change their state laws to include part time on the unemployment rolls and fully fund them in 2 years time (2/2011).
Perry also said no to Race to the Top money because that would have given the Fed control over the school curriculum matters.

So the story is false? That's a relief. Agree?
