Blacks and Hispanics are more likely to get involved with crime and go to prison. Those minorities groups are more likely to be poor. That is why they have those scholarships. They give them to minorities that are likely to succeed in academia. It is also a worthy incentive for them to stay out of gangs and other forms of criminal activity.
Also anybody can earn a scholarship. Academic departments are universal in scope and offer them based on merit and reputation.

I am really feeling sorry for my male white friends and even whites I do not know. The game seems to be stacked against you in today's world. If you voice opposition to the current government, you are labeled as racist. The government programs designed strictly for minorities today make it impossible for you to compete. You have to battle obstacles in obtaining a job because you have to beat a system designed to hire minorities over you for the sake of diversity.
It's a shame that a country which has come so far as to not discriminate against me is now openly discriminating against you. Stand up for your rights and fight for equality. Don't let anyone make you feel like being quiet is better than being called a racist. FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT!
And for the record, the government providing special results for me is an outright INSULT.
I agree with you. I think that in this day and age that minorities do have the same opportunities as me personally. I am a white dude and am more poor than most minorities I come across, so I ask where is my benefits to help me if they got em? You're right. It shouldn't be this way. The laws should change from a racial standpoint into a social class standpoint because we don't have white water fountains and black water fountains anymore.
Say that to all of the brown and black people in prison. They clearly have it worse. Black and brown people are far more likely to go to prison than white people. In fact there are more minorities in prison than in college dorms.

Anyone in prison has it worse. You are correct, but at the same time I grew up in a neighborhood in Miami where some of my old friends are the ones in prison. It's all about choices. I lived in a car before, I lived in a shelter too but I never felt like I needed to sell drugs just because I was hungry. I stood with my brother in front of grocery stores for a few weeks as a teen and begged people for money to make a phone call until I had the money to get something to eat. It's about what choices you make. I made choices that kept me away from what they crowd was into. Plus a little luck to go along with that. My brother has been to jail a number of times and like I said it's about choices. He chose to sell drugs and got caught. I do know that some people in prison were stuck in a situation where they had to defend themselves or a family member and ended up going to prison but the majority are not like those people
