Poll: Filtering the "Should creationism be taught in public schools?" poll results (global warming, suspect)

I spent the last half hour or so scanning the responses to the poll referred to and I must say I am surprised, but pleased, to see that the overwhelming majority of voters said NO.

What was not surprising, however, and essentially predictable was that much of the posted commentary in support of the NO position seemed to be authored by the usual suspects on the far left. The same folks who embrace the religion of man-made "climate change" with a zeal that equals that of their rejection of Christianity.

So I asked myself this - are these poll results significant in the sense of being indicative of a major shift away from the chains of religious teaching in a wide cross-section of the population? Or....are they merely reflective that a lot more of those who predictably march with the political left on each and every platform item took the week off?

So this poll is ONLY for NO voters in the "Creationism" poll. I'm interested in how many of you reject the silliness of man-made "global warming" as fervently as you reject the fairy tale that is religion.

NO voters only, please.

I voted I'm not sure, and I was the creator of the poll in the other thread. The reason I voted not sure is because, I believe climate change is real, but I don't believe humans are the only ones causing it. I believe it is natural and man made. It probably would have happened either way because it happens in nature but I think it is either happening faster or with greater severity because of human intervention. Thats just my view on that.

Accepting or rejecting a precept, whether it be Creationism or Climate Change, should be based on the evidence at hand. The evidence does not support Creationism. There is no known physical mechanism by which God could create the universe as described in literally 7 days.

That's not to say it didn't happen. It the evidence just points to "no".

On the other hand, atmospheric CO2 concentrations are rising according to the majority of accessible measurment methods and there has been no parallel increase in volcanic emissions or other natural sources of Carbon Dioxide. Therefore it is a reasonable postulation that the sources are from the liberation of carbon sequestered in fossil fuel deposits by industrial and transportation consuption.

Carbon Dioxide has been demonstrated to be permeable to visible light, but impermeable to infrared radiation. Models of increased CO2 in the atmosphere indicate that this will have some form of effect on the global environment, likely a more energetic system.

Taken together, this indicates that climate change is likely occuring. However, as a past NASA administrator mentioned, to much media ballyhooing, it is not known if the effects of climate change will be good or bad, simply that they will occur if our present behaviour continues.
