With the proposed restrictions that the city council passed it will make very little difference. All freedom to bear arms has been left to the criminals.

Most of the time banning by Regulation is just as effective as banning by law. I have to ask just what are the authorities in Chicago afraid of? Is it more criminals killing criminals? Why? The criminals are already killing each other with illegal guns. Or is it previously defenseless victims killing criminals in self defense? Again, Why? Killing someone while you are defending yourself is not a sin and should never be a crime. It is pest control. Assaulting someone makes the attacker fair game or at least it should.

Actually violence may not go down, when a scumbag gang banger or punk thief get shot by an innocent gun owner protecting their property or family , you could still say it was violent, but that don't make it a bad thing!

Then please explain why in every instance in every state that has enacted shall issue laws the violent crime rate drops quicker than the national rate. By the way, the national rate is dropping also and guess what? Gun ownership in the US is soaring. More guns, less crime. It's a fact! Your op tells me you need to be a lot more informed on this subject.

You just shot yourself in the foot. Chocago's gun ban is one of the reasons crime is so high there. Proof? Check the FBI stats. Are you for real?

Tuco, you really should read the research behind more guns = less crime before spouting off false assumptions.
