You do understand that over 60% of women who are raped don't report it b/c they are shameful and fear for their lives, right?

**Correction - 94% of sexual assaults are not reported.

If it isn't reported how can the numbers be measured?

Not at all. If it's a medical necessity, leave the decision to medical professionals. Quite often, it's not.

But it is fascinating to see the right suddenly being in all in favor of the government dictating a medical procedure. No, wait - not fascinating. Revolting.

Medical procedure?
Having goop smeared on your stomach and a small roller rubbed over it must be terrifying...

I believe several states prohibit third trimester abortions...are you opposed to that interference too?

The "small government" crowd sure can adjust their principles when it serves their need.

I see nothing at all wrong with the ultra-sound requirement or allowing lawful CCW in places of worship. The crimes against nature thing I'll have to do some reading as I don't think I fully understand the legislation. In any case, since I don't live in Lousiana and never plan to (too humid) I have no objection to their Govenor signing into legislation the wishes of the people of that state.

Agreed. And keep in mind, this law was submitted by a state senator and it made it through the LA state senate. All Jindal does is sign it or not. Perhaps he encouraged it, but it's unlikely he wrote the bill, and I'm assuming a governor can't propose the legislature.

Did you miss where this bill was sponsored by a DEMOCRAT?

Irrelevant. Is this law overruling the medical professionals judgment as regards the necessity of an ultrasound? Yes, it is. It's not really debatable.

Unrelated to this legislation, and you know it.
