Iran must halt woman's death by stoning - CNN.com

This crap is just wrong. I know its not my country, but every single country in the civilized world should stand up against this kind of treatment.

No I think you're wrong. It's not wrong, they're just different. Their culture must be respected and elevated to the same status as western culture

Leave them be jeez. Some countries think the U.S is barbaric because we still have the death penalty.

The conservative viewpoint is that they're a sovereign country and it's not our place to speak out against their laws, correct?

I'll speak only for myself, but I disagree with human rights violations wherever they occur regardless of what country or culture is promulgating them. Just so happens that muslim countries have a very poor history of human (especially women's and gay's) rights. Sovereign country or not, what they do is vile and disgusting. Using their religion as a basis for committing these atrocities makes it even that much worse.

In my opinion, it's the liberals that come to the resounding defense of these countries that allow such human rights abuses. Just read some of the threads on this board.

I'd personally rather be hung than buried up to my neck and have rocks hurled at my head. But that's just me.
