When do you estimate the impending civil war to start? The country is the most divided I have ever seen and the politicians are now outright breaking the law. There is a breaking point for people and I fear it is just around the corner.
Oh could be tommorrow R-EN. What will you do first? Which areas of your city will you clear out first?

The politicians are "now" outright breaking the law? Check your history buddy.

Oh, and if you're so excited about an imminent civil war I say, take it to the streets and rally your momentum. People online are typically too cowardly and lazy to actually respond in a manner that will involve anything more than repping you and saying, yeah, you're right.
I'm all for online dialogue, but when you bring up civil war, you best know what you're talking about.

Nope. I don't see it. Internet whining and mass-media spin does not equal civil unrest and secession-inducing social divisions. The country will thump along on square wheels for some time before it risks falling apart.
People forget that there was a time in this country when we had actual socialists with a good deal of popular support (Eugene Debs got almost a million votes for president in two elections, and there were several US Representatives who were members of the Socialist Party), as well as actual fascists, including Justice Scalia's father.
The current Democratic and Republican parties have some differences, but man-oh-man are they similar on a thousand other fronts.
Individual Americans are divided, I suppose, but I've had lots of conversations with people all over the political spectrum and lots of people are just generally scared. They can't seem to say why. Just being apprehensive and uncomfortable isn't policy. It isn't strategy.
Furthermore, the practical implications of civil war... they're just outrageous. I, for one, don't know too many people who are legitimately ailing in this country right now. Are there people who are hurting? Sure. But the vast majority of people are WAY too comfortable to pick up a gun and take to the streets.
Because what then? Who fights who? I live in South Carolina, and EVEN IN THIS VERY RED STATE, opinions aren't unanimous. Are you telling me that my neighbor, who flies the Gadsden Flag, is going to cross the street to shoot my other neighbor because he has an Obama sticker on his car? Is Mitch McConnell going to hold a gun to John Kerry's head? I mean, seriously...
And if we're talking about secession... there are a MILLION other concerns. I'll use SC as an example, again. Let's say SC DID overcome the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of people who would never approve of something as asinine as secession, and let's say it seceded. What then? There are thousands and thousands and thousands of US Military personnel here at Fort Jackson, Parris Island, Shaw AFB, NWS Charleston, etc. And that's just the military. The DOE's Savannah River Site employs 10,000. There are national parks and monuments here. Federal offices. The list goes on and on.
So I know some people are angry, but this isn't a movement. This isn't a rising tide. This is a disjointed collection of angry people who haven't thought through the logistics of picking up guns and killing their neighbors, and then building viable, sustained governments.

Get some sleep tonight.
Getting some good sleep is among the best things all of us can do. Although America claims to be a 1st rate Western nation and really isn't (in terms of general welfare of all people), things aren't so bad here. The hatefulness of the left/right debacle is becoming more horrendously comic day by day considering all the spaces we share and how infantile the political spectrum "appears" to be. I say "appears" because I do believe the media and the incessant and psychotic "spin" factor has a role to play in how many Americans are consistently disinformed day by day and make emotional statements based on the disinformation and spin they are being fed over. And over. And over.

Everyone needs to just calm down.
I've just quoted part of your post CarolinaBred but I think its all good stuff and very relevant. The anger is not a movement. It's very personal and very parceled out. Some people on the internet waves may get duped into thinking there is mass support for their opinion, but it's often not the case. The anger vented thru this forum is not even, I feel, always even authentic.
People need to take care who they side with and respond too. It's easy to get online and voice an opinion. But thar be trolls. And there are plenty of posters who come here purely for inflammatory purposes. You have to be yourself but be conscious and careful of your word. They have consequence. I'm not sure many posters are always aware of these facts.

If you stayed in Chicago you would see it.
