They say everything in Texas is big, and that sure goes for its stature in business.
With the biggest point total in the history of our study, Texas posts a big victory as America's Top State for Business 2010.

Because we don't over regulate and over tax business.
Texas IS business friendly.

That's ok though..since the libs and liberal states hate big business they must be overjoyed that businesses are up and leaving their states.

I just wonder though, with business gone, how they plan to generate jobs and revenue for their state. Libs never go beyond getting rid of big business so I guess we'll see how this plays out.

Now don't all you Progressive liberals, come here from your broken progressive States and try to change my state into what you had where you came from.

Conservative run States are doing much better all around, that the Progressive run States!

Texas has the strongest recovery in the US, this state created 125,000 jobs between January 2010 and May 2010
It's not a surprise

Living in Austin, you should know its already too late for that. Lets just hope you guys can keep it contained to Travis County and not let it spread to to the rest of the state

It will be interesting to see how New Jersey fares compared to the rest of the nation. Their Governor has just made painful massive budget cuts but did not raise taxes.

NJ will be a great bellweather.

One big thing that helped is RE. Texas didn't allow HELOC's until late and even then it was highly regulated and restricted.

So we didn't have the big RE bust that other states had.

Austin has many public sector jobs, it's rather normal. But other cities are different.

Yes, Austin is a lost cause. Over the past 3 years I've seen the changes happen. Ideals seem to win over reality. The ideals are costly and operate at a loss yet they always try to justify it.

Hopefully Austin isn't the biggest city in Texas, Houston is clearly ahead and gains more people.
