I have mixed feelings. I kind of feel bad for those kids. Can you imagine waking up one day and realizing you didn't even know your parents' real names (or technically even your own true last name)???

Crazy.
unless those kids are illegal aliens what is the problem?

Do you have kids???
All kinds of problems. Of course the kids are legal US citizens; they were born here.
The older ones will probably (?) be given a choice and it sounds like most will opt to stay in the US (althought I wonder what their feelings are toward their parents at this point? ).
The little ones (ages 1 and 3) will most likely (?) be sent to Russia. It would be cruel to rip them from their parents, right? What would be the other option, foster care? Do they retain their US citizenship?
It's the in-betweens who are probably the most problematic. They are really not old enough to stay here w/o parents, but old enough to know what is going on. They are also old enough to have a sense of self-identity. They most likely see themselves as typical American Pre-Teens. Uprooting them and moving them to a county with which they are not familiar will be jarring at best. And again, do they retain US citizenship?
"Sins of the Fathers" as they say. What a mess these parents created!
I can't believe their selfishness.

The parents are convicted felons now the question is did they lose their parental rights? If the kids go with them they are gonna be screwed up and if they are placed in the sytem they will be screwed up. This is a crappy situation all around.
Confused... those kids are supposed to be Russian, but why do they look and have names that are of Hispanic origins?.
EDIT- NVM.. see they are children of the only-non Russian spy
Did you read the article?
8 of the 10 spies are parents . There are 6 minors in question. The 7th "child" is a 20 year old college student.

I agree. Selfish beyond belief.
To sneak into this country illegally is a crime. To work illegally with falsified credentials, also a crime. To spy on this country? A felony as pointed out above. But the true evil here, in my mind, was bringing innocent children into the mix.
Their parents are responsible and it is the parents right to choose where they go regardless of what anyone else thinks. That's just the way it is. Being a spy and having children as a cover is a gross injustice that these people deliberately put their kids through.
If the children had other family members her they could live with that might be a possibility but it is their parents decision and it would probably be in their best interest to go with them.
All of the spies were in the country illegally. With false identities and forged paperwork.
It doesnt have anything to do with the topic at hand but was wondering if newspaper put in wrong caption or wrong photo because it said sometihng about Russian spy kids under photo where kids didn't look Russian. Was just pointing it out and already stated I found out why they look Hispanic and not Russian
