Why did the mainstream media neglect to show some of that historic coverage? Beck asserted that he and his staff (obviously of equally incompetent morons) had looked hard for evidence of any such footage being shown by the evil "mainstream media," and had found absolutely none. None!!

Why would Beck & Co. have failed to find any such thing? Could it be, asked Olbermann, because in the era when civil rights legislation was before the U.S. Congress, NO CAMERAS WERE PERMITTED IN THE CHAMBERS OF EITHER THE HOUSE OR SENATE DURING THE PROCEEDINGS OF THOSE BODIES??!! That being the case, no "mainstream media" or any other media could have found any footage of the filibustering Byrd or of any other person in the Senate speaking on any other subject whatsoever during any session of that body!

Sorry sickofnyc but when Olbermann speaks, tumbleweeds roll across the studio. Ironic more people prefer FOX over MSNBC and CNN
...and? As another poster said, Jerry Springer's trashy show and all of the really stupid reality shows are successful too. The dumbing down of America is prevalent. Quantity does not equate to quality.

Remember when the Left was crying about how the GOP is finished and they are irrelevant? Funny that the GOP is scheduled to go on a huge rebound this November and Fox News has eclipsed CNN and MSNBC in terms of viewership. Fox averages 1.4M-2M viewers on primetime compared to CNN and MSNBC which average around 400K-600K apiece. Pretty pathetic on the Left I must say. Talk Radio? Forget that. Air America died for a reason. No one listens to them! The people are starting to realize that the media has a strong liberal bias in it in general hence why the Fox anchors refers to the liberal media as mainstream because there's only Fox on the conservative side. Then some whiny anchor on MSNBC (I think it was Ed Shultz) was whining that the government needs to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine so the liberal media can have "affirmative action" on Talk Radio because dominating TV isn't enough for them, they want to get their foot in the door to Talk Radio which is the only place left to get real news besides Fox. Michael Savage IMO, is the best one out there he is the most independent of ALL of them.

That's because most people prefer to watch ENTERTAINMENT programs than News. News is boring to most people. So your argument doesn't really stack up because Fox News is no American Idol or Jerry Springer. So I'm guessing you have nothing to come back at with?

Yes, Beck's rantings and puposeful revisions of history and religion's role in government are outlandish. The people that hang on this idiot's words need to be exposed to some of the truth.

BTW...shall we bother to do a search of some of your posts and threads? All unbiased, informed and balanced...I'm sure.

By the way those Jerry Springer shows and the rest of the entertainment out there, did you know they have a strong liberal bias? Who's dumbing down who again?
