In the City by the Bay, it may soon be easier to get a pot-laced brownie than a can of Pepsi.

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom recently intensified his surge against soda pop just as the city's health department issued regulations to guide medical marijuana shops in how to prepare "edible cannabis products."

Pot is probably less dangerous than a can of soda.

How much sugar in a 12 ounce can of coke? - Yahoo! Answers
Coca-cola is entirely sweetened with high fructose corn syrup. 39 grams per twelve ounce can.

12-oz can of Coke has 140 calories. That means that the can has the equivalent of 9 teaspoons or 3 tablespoons of sugar.

The beverage game is part of a Nemours Health & Prevention Services program designed to teach people who work with children just how much sugar is packed into many of the drinks kids love. Kate Dupont Phillips, a Nemours program and policy analyst who conducted the recent training at the Nemours office in Newark, gave the audience a jarring image at the start: measuring cups filled with the amount of sugar in popular drinks. A 12-ounce can of Coca-Cola, for example, has almost 10 teaspoons of sugar. A 24-ounce bottle of Pepsi-Cola has 21.

Knock yourself out. Is there anyone who is trying to stop you from drinking sugar laden drinks?

BTW, as has been noted several other places, sodas are no longer available in the vending machines instate buildings. Period.
You can bring it with you, but not buying it in vending machines.

Who is stopping anyone from drinking what they choose?
Drinks are no longer being offered in vending machines in local government buildings.

How is that stopping you from drinking anything?

He wants to ban pets too.

Its fine though for those pot smokers to get in a car and drive, maybe killing one of your children.
They want everybody to be healthy when they kill you.
Guess they are worried about who will take care of your dog when you die in that head on collision.

It is funny, how they restrict the opportunity to choose for yourself, as a free thinking individual.
They know best. We are too stupid to make the right choice.
