With Republicans in control of Congress their business will be much more effective if they just beat Obama into submission.

A Dhimi-god, as it were.

There are a few:

1. The oil spill mis-management. His uncaring attitude, and unwillingness to allow help from other countries. Not sure that's impeachable though.

2. His status as a natural born citizen is still in doubt.

3. His actively working against federal immigration laws could be a reason.

Unfortunately stupidity and ineptitude are not chargeable offenses. If they were, the government would be considerably smaller than it is. The hope this November is not to impeach Obama but simply to contain. The last thing in the world I'd want to see right now is Obama kicked out. If he left office today, he'd be replaced by Biden (scary) and if Biden went with him that would leave Pelosi (Apocalyptically scary) as POTUS.

Sorry. Republicans aren't quite as dumb as you want to imagine.

And this one has to wonder why the answer given long ago has not been accepted by some people.

Only to birthers.

Even if that was true (it's not), that reason could be a stretch. I suspect that after Clinton was impeached, most Members of Congress will need REAL and substantial reasons to go down that road again.

Yeah, the same people who voted to go to war and agreed on it would have impeached him. Where do you come up with this BS?

Are you saying that the POTUS lying under oath is NOT a REAL situation?

They likely won't have the votes to convict. The reason the Congress impeached Clinton was to pick up a few seats, and they got thrown for a loss. Next year's Congress will learn from that. I suppose if the "birthers" get a majority they could pass a feel-good resolution declaring that Obama's birth certificate is invalid. Wait until 2013 to see who is President then.

I am beginning to think you are another one that will post anything to stir up trouble...First of all I think it is doubtful the Republicans will make quite that strong of gain. They will pick up a hell of a lot of seats, but to take over, that would be a surprise. If they do, no, they will not try and impeach him. Sure you have a few over the edge right wingers that might like to, but it would be political suicide if nothing else.
