Eliminating these Trusts would reduce the incentive to work hard, invest wisely and provide for your family. This would devastate the American way of Life. A wealthy conservative Republican banker told me so.

That is where you are very wrong. Money in government hands does get spread around much more efficiently than money lavished on the rich wastrels ever will. Hoarded money is wasted money and a leisure class is always too expensive for a society to maintain.

Well it depends what the Government is spending it on. If it goes to pay for more wars and nation building in the Middle East I rather the wealthy keep it and buy cars, boats, services, etc... and actually stimulate the economy.

I would be more apt to agree with you if I had evidence the Government would use that tax revenue wisely.

Do you have money saved Greg? What good is it doing in your bank account?

Why do we want to give the federal gvt more money? With a 13 trillion dollar debt have they been good stewards? They rake in over 3.5 trillion when will they have enough money? Why should these families have their wealth taking away to support people that did not help them get it? Why do these people owe our gvt or you anything? That money has already been taxed, would you want your money to be taxed twice?

Typical NYT deceit - they use the $3.5 million figure when they know full well the death tax comes back in 2011 to estates of $1 million.

Someone who knows better:

The Giving Pledge

IMO, the soldiers give their life, the workers their labor, and the rich can certainly contribute what is within their capacity as well. Why is it that I hear more rhetoric about (trickle down) distribution of wealth but not about distribution of sacrifices and hard work (trickling up)?
