Majority of Americans lack faith in Obama: poll - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100713/us_nm/us_obama_poll - broken link)

What I am most interested in is right here.

Asked how much confidence they have in Obama to make the right decisions for the , 58 percent of respondents said "just some" or "none."
Sixty-eight percent expressed the same sentiments about Democrats in Congress and 72 percent said the same of Republicans.

If people are that disenfranchised with Repubs and Dems. You think there will be a big swing in voting for a 3rd party this November?

The current political mood provides a great opportunity for a 3rd party. However, I don't believe there's enough time to build a common concensus between now and November. It would be wise for eligbile 3rd parties to get their operations in gear NOW for November 2012.

That question is more apt to a popularity contest. Like the all star voting in baseball. Not all the best players get in but the most likeable and notable players do.

When asked specifically about how he is doing on the issues he is not doing well.

To the contrary; many citizens have complete faith in Obama...and his capacity to cripple this Nation.

As has often been noted, people often provide contradictory responses within the same survey. Here are the full tabular reports for the WaPo/ABC poll:

Washington Post-ABC News (washingtonpost.com)

Note that 50% approve of the way that the president is doing his job, but, only 43% have confidence that he will make the right decisions.

That's people for you
