Probe is under way to determine just how much influence BP may have had in the release of the Libyan terrorist who was responsible for the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, that killed 270 people.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least. Seems BP expressed concerns over progress being made on an agreement with Libya to drill for oil off the Libyan coast, the incarcerated terrorist came into play as a negotiating tool.

Quoted from the article:

"BP, under political pressure to stop and clean up the worst oil spill in U.S. history, signed an exploration agreement with Libya’s National Oil Corp. in May 2007 during a visit by then U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair. Four U.S. senators yesterday asked Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to investigate whether BP helped secure the release of Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset al- Megrahi from a Scottish jail to facilitate the drilling deal."

My guess is whatever is found or proven, will amount to little or nothing. Also, the doctor who diagnosed this lowlife with terminal cancer and claimed he only had three months to live, now claims he can live up ten more years and possibly more. Shady dealings all around and we've assigned shady politicians to "look into it".

Blair, Bush, Clinton, Obama...when are people going to wake up and realize all these self-serving politicians are not looking out for our best interests? We continue to fight with one another over party affiliations, race, and scandal after scandal, but it's all one big freak parade.
